Overview

Designing for a more sustainable world is an incredible mission. I joined WM's headquarters in downtown Houston and fell in love with the city — and with working on a cross-functional team of passionate UX Researchers, Product Designers, and Developers, building the event site for the greenest tournament in golf.

The mission

WM promotes sustainability and aims for zero waste through the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle process. Every year one of the largest publicly televised golf tournaments — the Phoenix Open — is sponsored by WM with the goal of having the whole event produce net #ZeroWaste.

The people we built the site for promote recycling to stay green. They also love the sport of golf and the great outdoors. Combining all of those elements — sustainability, sport, and a seamless experience — is what brought the project together.

Outcome

The project turned out very successfully and was well received by golfing fans.
