DocNow is a telemedicine platform for hybrid care, designed so patients can transition seamlessly between virtual and in-office appointments. The unified experience covers onboarding, virtual visits, and in-office booking while keeping notes, history, and prescriptions in sync across both modes of care.

Overview

DocNow is a telemedicine platform built for the post-pandemic healthcare landscape — where patients expect the flexibility to choose between virtual and in-person care for the same condition, often with the same provider.

The core design challenge was creating a unified experience that made the transition between virtual and in-office modes feel seamless — not like two different products bolted together.

The Problem

Most telemedicine platforms were built during COVID as fast solutions — they handle virtual appointments well but create friction when patients need to shift to in-person care. DocNow set out to fix this by treating virtual and in-office care as two modes of the same experience, not two separate workflows.

Core user needs:

  • Book and manage both virtual and in-office appointments in one place
  • Maintain care continuity — notes, history, prescriptions — across modes
  • Transition mid-treatment without losing context or repeating intake

Outcome

DocNow's hybrid care model addressed a genuine gap in the telemedicine market. The unified experience reduced patient confusion and improved visit completion rates.
